With an academic background in Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Bubby Kettlewell has a broad knowledge base and skill set well suited to the complexities of the burgeoning medical marijuana industry. She has been director of Quality Assurance at ABcann Medicinals Inc. since the summer of 2014 and has overseen the development of the quality system there. She also has extensive experience in analytical laboratory quality assurance and implementation of the ISO/IEC 17025-2005 Standard for laboratories. She has been the Quality Assurance Officer at the Analytical Services Unit of Queen’s University since 2006 and also serves as an assessor with the Canadian Association of Laboratory Accreditation (CALA).
Philippe Lucas is Vice President of Patient Advocacy at Tilray (www.tilray.ca), a federally authorized medical cannabis production, research and distribution company based in Nanaimo, BC, and Interim Executive Director of the Canadian Medical Cannabis Council (www.medicalcannabiscouncil.ca). Additionally, Philippe is a PhD student in the University of Victoria’s Social Dimensions of Health program and a Graduate Researcher with the Center for Addictions Research of British Columbia. His scientific research includes the therapeutic use of cannabis in the treatment of trauma and addiction, and he has been invited to provide expert testimony before the Canadian House of Commons, the Canadian Senate, and the BC Supreme Court.
Philippe first became involved with medical cannabis as a patient, and founded the Vancouver Island Compassion Society in 1999 in order to serve the needs of patients who might benefit from the medical use of cannabis. He is extremely community involved, and served as a Victoria City Councillor and Regional Director from 2008-2011.
Over the years Philippe has received a number of accolades and awards for his work, including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2013) for his work and research on medical cannabis, the University of Victoria Blue and Gold Award for academic excellence and community service (2007), and the Vancouver Island Civil Liberties Association Leadership Award (2002).
John is the President & CEO of Supreme Pharmaceuticals Inc. (CSE: SL). John began working in the medical marijuana sector over ten years ago. He pursued a career in law to assist medical marijuana patients with legal challenges relating to access, employment and tenancies. This culminated in 2013 when John assisted with R v. Mernagh at the Ontario Court of Appeal. John is committed to providing Canadians access to high-quality, low-cost medical marijuana and working with the medical community to improve physician education and support for medical marijuana. John founded AMMCan, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Supreme in 2013 with a goal to creating a large-format, low-cost production platform for sun grown medical cannabis. Alan Young is Co-Founder and Director of Osgoode’s Innocence Project, which is a clinical program that guides JD students through the process of investigating suspected cases of wrongful conviction and imprisonment. He also maintains a small practice specializing in criminal law and procedure that is primarily devoted to challenging state authority to criminalize consensual activity.
He has brought constitutional challenges to our gambling, obscenity, bawdy-house and drug laws, and for nearly two decades has provided free legal services to those whose alternative lifestyles have brought them into conflict with the law. He has represented countless numbers of people suffering from AIDS, cancer and multiple sclerosis who were charged after using marijuana for medicinal purposes, and as a result of these cases, the Federal Government was compelled to create a regulatory program authorizing the use of medical marijuana. In addition to his work in the area of consensual crime, Professor Young has also provided free legal services to victims of violent crime and to individuals attempting to sue the government for malicious prosecution.
Canadian Lawyer magazine has recognized the contributions Professor Young has made to the law, and named him one of the “Top 25 Most Influential” in the justice system and legal profession in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014. He is the author of Justice Defiled: Perverts, Potheads, Serial Killers and Lawyers (Toronto: Key Porter, 2003).
Matthew Hill is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Cell Biology and Anatomy and Psychiatry at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute at the University of Calgary (Canada). He was trained in Behavioral Neuroscience and Psychoneuroendocrinology at the University of British Columbia and did postdoctoral training in the laboratory of Dr. Bruce McEwen at the Rockefeller University. Dr. Hill’s research has helped to reveal the critical role, and neural circuits through which, endocannabinoid signaling regulates acute responsiveness and adaptation of the stress response, both at the neuroendocrine and behavioral level. Further, his research has demonstrated how chronic stress can compromise endocannabinoid function, identifying this system as target for both the pathophysiology and treatment of stress-related mood and anxiety disorders. This research program is funded by CIHR, NSERC and Brain Canada. Dr. Hill has done consulting with Health Canada regarding their information document for health care professionals providing information on cannabis, as well as in industry where he has consulted with both Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson regarding their endocannabinoid research programs and potential applications to stress-related psychiatric illnesses.
Mr. Anand is the Executive Director of the Canadian National Medical Marijuana Association (CNMMA). The CNMMA represents the nascent Medical Marijuana industry in Canada. Their members comprise of Applicant and Licensed Producers, Physicians, Patients as well as Businesses providing services to the industry in Canada. Their mission is to ensure that all Canadian patients who benefit from medical marijuana have access to the highest quality of product and services, to meet their specific health care needs in a safe, well- regulated environment. They seek to advocate for the sector, guide patients and educate Canadians about medical marijuana, be a resource for medical practioners, share best practices as well as be a resource for Health Canada.

Dr. Warriner is currently a Professor within the Department of Food Science at University of Guelph, Canada. Dr. Warriner received his BSc in Food Science from the University of Nottingham, UK and PhD in Microbial Physiology from the University College of Wales Aberystwyth, UK. He later went on to work on biosensors within the University of Manchester, UK and subsequently returned to the University of Nottingham to become a Research Fellow in Food Microbiology. He joined the Faculty of the University of Guelph in 2002.

Steve is currently a researcher at Ryerson University in Molecular Science program. His thesis focuses on Cannabis seed morphology and evolutionary contrast between “wild” and cultivated varieties. Steve holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Medical Physics, a minor in Philosophy. He has researched in the areas of genetics versus environment, plant systematics and morphology, medical physics/engineering and Cannabinoid extractions. Kevin Cullum is the Technical Manager of Koppert Canada Limited and directs a team of 11 Integrated Pest Management consultants across Canada focusing on Biological Control of pest and diseases on high value greenhouse and indoor vegetable, ornamental and cannabis crops. Kevin brings together a unique combination of growing and IPM experience, drawing from 27 years in growing and IPM in some of the largest commercial vegetable and ornamental greenhouses in Canada. He has many years of experience in Integrated Pest Management in medical cannabis and has access to the combined knowledge data pool of the largest biological control company in the world. John MacKay earned a Ph.D. from the University of Vermont in chemistry focused on the synthesis for cancer fighting molecules using a cyclic -phosphazene backbone. During the late 70’s and early 80’s he held positions at several colleges and universities teaching organic, biochemistry and analytical courses, as well as supervising grant based funded student research projects.
John MacKay joined Waters Technologies in July, 1983.
