IPA

On June 3, 2020 IPA has hosted a live webinar on “CO2 Purification Technology: From Isolating Minor Cannabinoids to Remediating Pesticides from Cannabis Extracts” sponsored by Thar Process. This live presentation provides attendees with an understanding in the following areas:

  • Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC) uses CO2 as a primary mobile phase and deploys organic solvent as a 2-10% co-solvent. This method has been used for over 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • SFC has proven to be most effective on natural product extracts.
  • Thar Process uses SFC to subtract THC from hemp extracts while keeping 95% of the other cannabinoids.
  • SFC can be used to produce high-value THC isolates while remediating pesticides/fungicides.
  • As outdoor growing becomes more popular, pesticide and fungicide issues are emerging as a safety threat.
